There’s a reason they call it the “doldrums of winter” — being cooped up inside for much of the inconsistent weather can make any of us a little stir crazy. Here’s a Winter First Aid Kit for the soul!
Shorter periods of daylight can take a toll on well-being. Increase the light in your environment by opening up blinds and sitting closer to windows, and getting outside of your office or home when you can during the day can improve your mood.
Don’t underestimate how a new outfit can make you feel good. Sure everyone is bundled up in bulky coats and gear to survive the snow, but it’s a perfect time to take stock of your closet and get rid of things that don’t fit or you don’t wear anymore.
Whether we realize it or not, the winter time stuck inside is the perfect time to do things you’ve wanted to but put off, like pick up an instrument or learn a new language. It doesn’t even have to be a long-term project. Find a new recipe and add a new dish to your repertoire or learn how to do one thing you love better. We’ll get you started: Brew Coffee Like a Pro.
