Celebrating coffee — one of the first things people think about when you mention fair trade — is an appropriate way to kick off the start of Fair Trade Month in October. There are many opportunities where you can get involved in workshops, tastings, and other events surrounding fair trade this month.
We've been writing love notes to coffee this whole year on our blog, helping you to get better acquainted with the business behind the world's most beloved beverage, not to mention giving tips on how to get more enjoyment out of each cup. If you missed them, check out some highlights from posts tagged "coffee," like how to brew coffee like a pro and how to brew low-acid coffee.

Why fair trade month? It’s a great reminder to make purchasing fairly traded products a routine part of your shopping habits during the month of October (and beyond)! While all our coffees at The Good Buy are fair trade, if you need to grab a bag of beans elsewhere, be sure to check labels and ask questions about the sourcing of the goods you buy. Make sure that your spending dollars are going to workers who were paid a fair price for their goods and labor. It feels good to know that your daily choices are supporting sustainable practices instead of an exploitative economy.
And in honor of International Coffee Day — whether you prefer a bold and nutty dark roast or something subtle and light — celebrate all things coffee with our Coffee Buzz Pinterest Board.
