Give a Gift for Healthy Children

December 01, 2017

Your purchases from The Good Buy helps children around the globe thrive! Here are just a few of the recent impacts gifts like yours have accomplished through UUSC's global human rights projects:

  • For the past three years, we've supported the Mouvman Peyizan Papay in the construction of a school in Haiti’s Central Plateau, serving 160 students – many of whom were displaced by the 2010 earthquake in Port-au-Prince. Soon, with your funding, two additional classrooms will be built, bringing the total number of classrooms to seven and allowing the school to serve students from pre-K through the sixth grade.
  • Our partner, the Refugee and Immigration Center for Education and Legal Services (RAICES), connected 2,100 asylum-seeking children (176 families) to legal services outside of Texas.
  • In Haiti, Zanmi Timoun, welcomed over 600 children deported from the Dominican Republic, 258 of whom arrived at the border alone, providing them with immediate aid.
  • As part of our Ebola outbreak response, we worked with Partners in Health - Sierra Leone to strengthen infection prevention and control at a government hospital and a local clinic, creating safer spaces for patients and staff.

Want to make an even bigger difference for at-risk children around the globe? You can give a holiday gift in the name of a loved one to advance UUSC's work for children's rights. Click here to learn how.
