Better to Light One Candle

November 11, 2014

"Better to light one candle than to curse the darkness," reads the Chinese proverb that graces the justice-inspired travel tin created by Prosperity Candle and UUSC.

By purchasing this candle, you become part of a global movement to empower women through entrepreneurship! Prosperity Candle travel tins are made by women refugees living in the United States. For many of these women, making these candles is their first employment opportunity after relocation and helps them establish a new, sustainable life here — and they are paid a living wage. Each candle is printed with the name of the woman who made it. You can go to Prosperity Candle's website to read her story and send a message of encouragement or share her story with friends!
