Southern Alternatives Pecans Are In!

November 24, 2014

Once a year, we get a shipment of the freshest pecans you'll ever taste. We get this special delivery from the only cooperative pecan processing plant in the United States owned and operated by African American women. Supplies are limited, so order early — they will go quickly! Make your Thanksgiving pecan pie with fair-trade plain pecan halves this year, and enjoy the goodness that will be baked right in.

We are inspired by this co-op of small farmers in Leslie, Ga., who are creating economic opportunities in rural Georgia and paying their workers a living wage. Take a tour of Southern Alternatives Agricultural Cooperative by watching this video.
