Renewable by Design

May 13, 2016

When designing things that make our lives better, if we make sure they are renewable, it forces us to find more innovative solutions and, ultimately, make better products. Take a closer look at a few of our favorite items made from recycled materials:

  • Blue Hyde Stripe Swing Dress
Would you believe this super-soft, super-cute dress is made partly from recycled plastic bottles? Believe it — and believe in dresses with pockets, because this one has them too.
  • Full Circle Dish Brush
Recycled plastic, bamboo handle. Made from recycled materials and is recyclable. Replaceable head reduces waste. Clean home, green home.
  • Recycled Produce Bags
These three machine-washable reusable produce bags are designed to restrict airflow and lock in moisture, making them perfect for veggies from market to fridge.

We agree with our partner Full Circle that a product’s life cycle should be circular, rather than linear. As they say: “Products made from materials that come from the earth can have long, functional, and beautifully designed lives and can return to where they came from, rather than collecting in a landfill.”

In honor of International Recycling Day on May 17, take stock of the products you use and ask yourself: is it recyclable or renewable?
