Make Way for a More Equitable World

May 08, 2016

World Fair Trade Day is an initiative of the World Fair Trade Organization (WFTO) in May of each year. This year’s theme: “Be an agent of change.” Your purchases of fair-trade goods through the Good Buy are a tangible contribution toward ending poverty, exploitation, climate change, and the economic crisis (which has the greatest effect on the world’s most vulnerable populations).

The Good Buy is helping to build local and global economies that are based on cooperation, not exploitation. Join with us by always choosing fair-trade products, which provide opportunities for small and disadvantaged producers and help create sustainable livelihoods.

We've got lots of mouthwatering fair-trade goodies, but everyone loves chocolate the most, right? Try these decadent chocolate treats made with pure ingredients from small farmers in Central and South America, Ghana, and Madagascar! Choose from dark, milk, or white chocolate and a variety of indulgent additions.

“Coffee farmers can’t live on beans.” That's a message worth getting the word out about. Check out our exclusive design printed on tees and stainless steel travel mugs — plus our favorite: the 16-oz. ceramic mug, which we can attest holds enough coffee to get you through the roughest mornings.

Whatever you're doing to bolster fair trade makes change for small farmers around the world. Your actions do make a difference, whether it's choosing to serve fair-trade coffee at your church or community group gatherings, volunteering at the local coffee cooperative, or something else. Tell us about it in the comments below and share your story with us!
